Company growth occurred over approximately two years and reflects the efforts of the broader organization. Revenue figures are based on information provided by the company owner. The case study focuses specifically on Vera Yanney's operational contributions during that period.

The Context

As the business expanded from a small operation into a multi-truck fleet, the informal methods that managed early operations began causing friction. Driver acquisition, regulatory compliance (DOT/FMCSA), onboarding pipelines, and operational documentation were concentrated in informal routines rather than repeatable systems.

Operational Interventions

1. Standardizing Driver Recruiting & Pipelines

Designed end-to-end recruitment funnels, structured applicant qualification filters, and streamlined the hiring sequence to consistently onboard qualified drivers without constant managerial bottlenecking.

2. Building the Regulatory Compliance Infrastructure

Structured Driver Qualification Files (DQF), automated expiration tracking, drug/alcohol consortium monitoring, and vehicle maintenance auditing to ensure compliance with federal transportation regulations.

3. Knowledge Transfer & Organization Embedding

Documented operating procedures and trained team members to oversee daily execution, ensuring the capabilities functioned independently as permanent organizational assets.

What Founders Say

The Thinking Behind the Work

This experience helped shape the way I approach operations today.

The work required understanding emerging operational needs, researching unfamiliar problems, determining appropriate solutions, building new capabilities, learning from implementation, and eventually transferring knowledge and ownership into the organization.
